Sawtooth Relay 2010

The sawtooth Relay is seriously the most beautiful run anyone could possibly do! There are lots of pictures that are going to come along with this post, but look at how beautiful the mountains are :) I had the best team ever and we had SUCH a good time. If you get a chance, go to sawtoothrelay.com and check it out. I did legs 1 and 7 this year for a total of about 11.92 miles. Last year I was 2 and 8.

Our team had a start time of 5:30am Saturday morning. Heather had to work at the Ram on Friday night since that is a money making night so she didn't want to take it off since Saturday she obviously had to take off as well. We ended up leaving boise to head to Standley around 130 in the morning running on no sleep. This was the roadtrip up there! :)

Obviously not all of these are me, but I just wanted you to see some of the scenery!

We were the wild cheetahs, so one of the mom's on our team picked up these cute matching shirts :) This is at the finish line when we were done with the whole run. It took us a little over 11 hours to finish all 66 miles! What an amazing day.

Oh Mercy!

I love reading about what everyone is up to this Summer, especially since I'm so far away right now! I thought I'd add to the ever-growing blog myself. Since Arriving to Vietnam last Monday, I've stayed continually busy. In fact, I'm up past my bedtime to write this entry, but thought I should take the time. The city we are in is like nothing I've experienced before, almost no cars, all scooters, and little fear of collision. All the components that equal chaotic traffic. I've been on shore for a total of three days now at two different sites. One was a school in the city, the other was a school in a rural district with nothing but rice fields around it. It has been nothing short of incredible to work out here. I sit chairside and assist several different dentists throughout my workdays, and learn a lot from each of them. Some days I think I won't ever know how to be a "real" dentist because all my clinical experience thus far has been out in the field without the luxuries of suction and rinsing equipment. Patients arrive, and we sit them in a chair, numb them, and extract any bothersome teeth. Our team does very few fillings due to equipment and circumstantial limitations, but I think even basic extractions help those who we treat. Another crazy note is that I went out to lunch in Nohn Binh two days ago and ate a fried baby bird, a snail, a frog leg, and squid. I'm still feeling alright so far. Happy Belated Birthday to Hill, Way to go Bonnie, and love to all the rest of the family! Thanks for posting!

BFF's- Jimmy & Ryan
Dancing on stage at The Farm at Thanksgiving Point

The highlight for my boys was pony rides at the Farm
Breakfast with the cousins at One Man Band
Checking out the cows
Ok, no real reason for this pic.. but isn't it hilarious I
caught this llama mid chew? He was cute!

Stevie the sting ray!
Oh, this represents the few and far between good moments
between them on the trip!
Ok, maybe not few and far between.. they were buds most of the time!
Last day of school festivities!

Yahoo! I figured out how to post onto this blog and now you guys will be wishing I never figured it out! First, thank you Kenters for setting this all up for the fam! I really hope this will be a way to keep us all connected. BUT, everyone needs to now subscribe to this blog, that way when each of us updates it, you will get an email notification to let you know so you can check it out. Also, I will still be keeping our families blog, so keep checking that one too!

Ok, with that said, Let the summer fun begin! Our first stop was in Utah where Em & Jake hosted us for 5, yes 5 whole nights! A BIG thanks to them for being so hospitable to us and taking me and my crazy children in. There were times I think she was wishing she hadn't agreed to it! But, we did have a lot of fun. Here are some highlights of the trip:

* Pizza & watermelon night- YUM!
* The boys setting up crazy car tracks all over the house and us parents loving the mess that came along with it
* Having lots of fun at Thanksgiving Point! We did the farm and the dinosaur museum and they were both fabulous! We only had a short hour at the dino museum so we dragged the kids out kicking and screaming!
* Picking the boys up from the bus stop on the last day of school and throwing water balloons at the bus. Then a fun neighbor of Em's had a soft serve ice cream machine set up outside for cones for everyone. It was fun!
* Stevie the Sting ray! Mom of course brought along some fun for the boys to enjoy. It was a grow in water sting ray that kept on growing and growing and was so huge by the last day! Mom had each of them pick a name and Stevie was the winning name. It was a fun little adventure for them to rush and check every day to see how big he was getting.
* Park day and breakfast with the cousins! On Memorial Day Katrina, Kayla, and Amanda all met us at a park with their kids. It was so great to see them and catch up. If only Landon wasn't hitting me and telling me he hated me while we were there, I could've actually had a conversation with them! So, this forced us to move the party to the next morning for a breakfast date with them all. Kayla wasn't able to come, but Em, Mom and I met up wit Katrina and Amanda and it was fun.
* Jimmy and I had to go to a wedding on Memorial Day as well, and so I thought I'd post a couple pics from that event also! I looked like "fat guy in a little suit" in my dress. My wardrobe options are rapidly diminishing and I look like a freak these days. But, I still went and ate myself silly cause I can right now. ha ha! Does anyone remember Jimmy's friend Ryan McMahon? (the groom) Really funny guy, his wife was a little bit stuffy.. but he's awesome! Oh, and love that I can say that- since only our family reads this! Love it!

Anyway.. more to come from me! I'm now is Boise with the boys until June 19th so keep checking back (subscribe) to keep up on our adventures!

Love you all!

Run Baby Run!

Here are 2 of my very best friends Kate (left) & Heather (right). We're missing Hailey or else our group of VERY best friends would be complete. We missed her this weekend.

Friday morning my friend Kate and I headed up to Coeur D'Alene for my run on Sunday. Heather flew in from Florida, where she was visiting her sister, to Spokane just to be there to support me. I have the best friends! Kate is originally from CDA (as is her whole family) so they have a cabin on Hayden Lake so we got to stay there. It was really far back in the mountain, but so so beautiful! The course of the run was really really pretty as well. I opted for the 1/2 marathon and thank goodness, I don't think my body would have been ready for the full. I ran it in 2:09:01. My average mile was 9:55 so i guess that's pretty good for 13.1 miles straight. I'm so glad I did it.

This is before the race. I was quite nervous about it.

This is after the race..... The only picture Heather took! I was so happy to be done I just couldn't stop talking :)If you can't tell...... I also woke up with pink eye that morning! lucky me!!

Summer Kick-Off!

Hi! Hill, here with my first blog post ever!

We kicked-off the Summer this weekend in style! I had an amazing birthday at work and my co-workers decorated my cube to look awesome! On Friday a dozen or so friends went to PF Chang's and had a great time at dinner. Saturday night was birthday girl's night out and we went to a posh, cute restaurant in Boston called the Beehive and then out for 80s night! My mafia neighbors gave me the best birthday present ever and decided to MOVE OUT! So John and I had a cookout on Sunday in our "communal" (our neighbors were supposed to share this with us LAST summer but don't particularly do well with sharing!) backyard and bought a new patio set and claimed it for our own! The weather was gorgeous all weekend and I couldn't have started the Summer off better. Love you and miss you all!

Countdown to Emily and Jake's visit:6 days! (whoo-hoo!!!)
